- MEET THE BUTCHER -

My career in butchering began at the age of 15 as a wash-boy in Fremantle after school each day. In such a short space of time, I discovered I enjoyed my job so much, that it inspired me to go on and do an apprenticeship in Perth, before moving back to Melbourne where I grew up. 

At the age of 22, a few years down the track, I moved back to Perth as a fully qualified butcher, and it wasn’t long until I brought my own butcher shop in 1991, Torres’ on Wray Avenue. After 6 successful years at my first location, I decided it was time to move on to bigger and better things, which happened to be just down the road, next door to Galati's & Son’s. This was where Franks Gourmet Meats was founded and has been happily and proudly serving it’s customers and restaurants for the past 20 years, since 1997.


We started off making just 2 types of sausages and have now expanded to producing over 20 different delicious types, including Beef, Lamb, Pork, Chicken and Kangaroo. Not only do we specialise in sausages, but we also have a wide selection of Game Meats, such as Kangaroo, Venison, Crocodile, Emu and many more, to serve for everyone's tastes.

 

Our identity is made up of a mix between the old school traditions and modern times at Franks'. With our eye-catching 100 year old tree-wood chopping blocks, to the boning out of all the beef, lamb and pork, we strive to provide our customers with a tasty variety of meat cuts through these traditions. In order to keep up with the modern times, we’ve come to understand that people’s eating habits have changed a lot over the past 20 years. With organic, free range or gluten free products becoming popular desires of the meat-loving community, Frank has listened to the modern demands of his customers and as a result, now stocks Organic Beef, Free Range Chicken and produces a number of Gluten free Sausages. 

 

Over the past 20 years business only keeps on getting busier. We now proudly serve 35 restaurants and cafes, mainly around the Fremantle area, but also branching out to the northern suburbs too, with the Flipside Burgers franchise being our biggest and most supportive customer over the past 10 years. 


Our busiest time of year at Franks’ is during the Christmas festive period, where we stock a wide range of seasonal products, Turkeys and Hams being the most popular along with our year round products of Poultry, Roasts and Sausages of course. We take great pride in giving our customers what they want for the festive season, to ensure a special and delicious meal is shared with their families at Christmas breakfast, lunch or dinner, so don’t forget to come down and place your order with us. 

 

We’re open 11 hours a day, 6 days a week, giving you plenty of time to pop in and say hello to myself Frank, and all of our wonderful welcoming staff, as well as to purchase quality cuts of steaks and sausages, for you and your families to tastefully enjoy.
